Subtle intensity control for professional light balancing.
The Single Black Net is a precision “dimmer” for your lighting setup. Unlike a silk, which changes the quality of the light by softening it, the black net only changes the quantity. It allows you to knock down the brightness of a specific area while keeping the light “crisp,” the shadows “sharp,” and the contrast exactly where you want it.
Single-Layer Mesh: Features a single layer of high-quality black netting. Because the mesh is black, it doesn’t scatter light or create a “haze,” ensuring your blacks stay deep and your colors stay saturated.
0.6 Stop Reduction: It reduces light by approximately half a stop (0.6 stops). This is perfect for subtle “feathering”—for example, making a light slightly dimmer on a subject’s hands so the viewer’s eye is drawn toward the face.
Open-End Design: The 24×36” frame is open on one side. This allows the photographer to slide the net into the beam of light without a hard metal shadow appearing on the subject or background.
Moire-Free: Because it is a single layer, it is less prone to the “interference patterns” (moire) that can sometimes occur with double-layered nets.
