The Softgrid 50° is a lightweight, fabric honeycomb grid designed specifically for the Profoto RFi Softbox Octa 3′ (90cm). While the Octa is famous for its wide, wrapping light, this grid allows you to maintain that signature softness while gaining surgical control over where that light falls.
Surgical Spill Control: By narrowing the beam to 50°, the grid prevents light from “washing out” your background or spilling onto areas of the set where you want deep shadows.
Adds Drama & Contrast: While the light remains soft on the subject, the grid increases the directional contrast, creating a moodier, more “cinematic” look compared to an open softbox.
Maintain the “Octa” Look: Even with the grid attached, you still get those beautiful, circular catchlights in the eyes that are the hallmark of the Octa 3′.
