3-in-1 Design: This is more than just an umbrella. It functions as a standard silver-lined bounce umbrella, a translucent shoot-through umbrella, or—its most famous configuration—a softbox-style modifier using the included front diffusion sock.
Exceptional Light Quality: The unique combination of the silver interior reflecting through the white diffusion cloth creates a light that is “soft yet punchy.” It provides beautiful skin tones with a subtle “pop” in the highlights that pure white modifiers often lose.
Removable Black Cover: The black backing can be removed in seconds to turn the unit into a giant shoot-through diffuser, perfect for filling an entire room with soft, ambient light.
Removable Center Shaft: A unique feature of the Softlighter is that the bottom half of the center pole can be removed. This allows you to position the light much closer to your subject without the metal shaft poking them or getting in the frame.
Fiberglass Ribs: Constructed with high-quality fiberglass ribs that are more durable and flexible than traditional metal ribs, ensuring the umbrella maintains its perfect shape over time.
