The “Workhorse” of the professional world.
The Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II is arguably the most used lens in professional photography. It is the gold standard for weddings, events, journalism, and studio work. This “Mark II” version was a complete optical redesign over the original, famously reaching a level of sharpness that rivals many prime lenses across its entire zoom range.
Supreme Optical Performance: Featuring one Super UD element and two UD elements, it virtually eliminates chromatic aberration and color blurring. It is significantly sharper wide-open at f/2.8 than the previous version.
Fast f/2.8 Constant Aperture: The bright maximum aperture allows for excellent low-light performance and beautiful background separation (bokeh) throughout the entire zoom range.
Redesigned Zoom Mechanism: Unlike the original version (which was longest at 24mm), the Mark II extends as you zoom toward 70mm. It also features a Zoom Lock switch to prevent “lens creep” when the camera is slung over your shoulder.
Ring-Type USM: The Ultrasonic Motor provides lightning-fast and near-silent autofocus, making it just as capable for high-speed sports as it is for quiet portraits.
