Features

The “subtle” diffuser for maintaining direction and snap.

The Quarter Silk is a specialized diffusion flag designed for when you want to soften a light source without losing its “punch.” While a standard Artificial Silk creates a broad, window-like light, the Quarter Silk allows more of the light’s original character to pass through, resulting in a look that is soft on skin but still has defined highlights and “snap.”
Light Diffusion: It takes the “edge” off a hard light source (like a bare bulb or a Zoom Reflector) but keeps the shadows slightly more defined compared to a Full Silk.
Minimal Light Loss: It only reduces the light by approximately 0.6 stops. This makes it ideal for situations where you are already working with limited flash power or want to maintain high shutter speeds.
Open-End Design: The 24×36″ frame features the industry-standard “open-end” (three-sided) construction. This allows you to feather the light seamlessly onto your subject without a metal frame shadow interrupting the gradient.
Natural Texture: It is often favored by fashion and product photographers who want to soften the “specular” highlights on skin or shiny surfaces without making the light feel “muddy.”
