The Rode VideoMicro is a tiny, lightweight directional microphone designed to drastically improve the audio quality of DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and smartphones. Unlike the internal microphones on your camera, which pick up sound from every direction (including your own breathing), the VideoMicro uses a cardioid pickup pattern to focus on the sound in front of the lens.
No Battery Required: It runs on “plug-in power” supplied directly from your camera’s microphone jack. You never have to worry about a battery dying in the middle of a shoot.
Directional Pickup: The cardioid polar pattern reduces distracting peripheral noises, focusing on the subject directly in front of the mic.
Rycote® Lyre® Shock Mount: Includes a high-grade thermoplastic suspension system that minimizes unwanted vibrations and “handling noise” from moving the camera.
All-Metal Construction: Despite its size, the body is made from aluminum, providing high levels of RF (radio frequency) rejection and durability.
