The Zoom Reflector is the most iconic and versatile accessory in the Profoto ecosystem. Included as standard with almost every studio generator head and many monolights, it is designed to be the foundation for dozens of other light-shaping tools. Its genius lies in its simplicity: by sliding it along the body of the flash head, you can “zoom” the light beam to change its spread and intensity.
Zoom Functionality: Utilizing Profoto’s unique rubber collar system, you can slide the reflector back and forth. Positioned at position 4, it provides a wide, even spread of 100°; slide it forward to position 10, and it narrows the beam to a focused 65°, increasing the light’s “reach” and intensity.
The Foundation Tool: The Zoom Reflector is the required mount for several other key accessories, including the Profoto Snoot, Honeycomb Grids, and Barn Doors.
High Output: The faceted silver interior is designed to maximize light efficiency while maintaining a remarkably smooth fall-off, ensuring no “doughnut” holes or harsh hot spots in the center of the beam.
Heat Management: Built from heavy-duty, heat-resistant metal, it is designed to handle the 500W modeling lamps of professional Pro-Heads during high-volume commercial shoots.
